Lithia Park is located in Ashland, Oregon, U.S.A. It consists of 93 acres of forested canyonland around Ashland Creek, stretching from the downtown plaza up toward its headwaters near Mount Ashland. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and was established in 1907. It's remarkable that a town as small as Ashland has such a magnificent park.

The rat that lives in our feed shed was caught on game cam exiting the other night. This is the best look I've had of it as normally I only catch a rare glimpse of it as it scurries across the shed. This arrangement seems to work well for both of us, and thus, our relationship is acrimonious.

Captured with a game cam in the middle of the night, a bobcat has been coming in on a regular basis to get some water. It's been quite hot lately and I'm sure it's very thirsty. The water dishes, located by our feed shed near the barn area is frequented by numerous animals, both at night and during the day.

Where did you stay with horses and RV when you went on this trail? What time of year?
We parked our rigs in a box canyon within the valley. This was in May, 2011. Don Vinson, the ride's organizer, whom you can see riding an Appaloosa, died a few years ago, so this ride is no longer offered that I know of.

this was beautiful. Are you required to pick up your poop and carry it in a bag like dog owners? My guess is that the people that hold their reins in one hand would have to carry it for the people that hold their reins in two hands. 🙂

Used to live in Hawaii, then Arizona, then Oregon. We have stuff from all over.

@@traviatablues i wish I were there to brush them! I saw a movie yesterday on Netflix, it’s called Seabiscuit. It was based on a true story of a racing horse. It was very touching, and it reminds me of Jack and Rose. If you haven’t watch it, I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much Gale, for your comments. I really appreciate that the videos have brought you some enjoyment. That's what I made 'em for. Since the move to Oregon, I've been kept very busy fixing this property up, which used to be a pot farm, that I have had very little time to even ride. Still a way to go before all is done, so I don't see a riding video coming this year. I still have to scope our this area to see where the trails are. Keep watching. I keep watching the various videos here and there, myself.

@@metatron2332 I don't believe there is a place to rent horses at Douglas Mesa. Better to go to Monument Valley, which is not far away to do something like that. All the horses you see in this video are privately owned and hauled into this area for a weeks-worth of riding.

What’s up with the wind noise in the beginning???
The opening scene is a parody of the old spaghetti westerns. In them, before the shootout, all was usually silent besides the music and the wind blowing.
Great scenery, gotta be a lot of fun. Please put a warning at the beginning to hit mute. The music is horrible, ear piercing, torture and takes away from a quiet trail ride. What ever happened to a simple guitar and fiddle?

It's not a very long trail. From the parking lot, it's probably around a 3-hour roundtrip.
